Fitting a set of ProGrip fork gaiters on a Yamaha TTR250

It's a very straightforward job.

1. Put TTR on a stand such that the front wheel is safely off the ground.

2. Remove the front wheel.

3. Referring to the photo below, undo the two bolts holding on the front caliper and the two Allen bolts on the hose clamp on the fork leg. This should allow the caliper to be free of the fork leg.

4. There are four bolts on each side of the yokes that clamp the fork legs in position. Loosen them off a bit at a time working back and forth so that one bolt isn’t taking all the pressure.

5. The fork legs should then slide down out of the yokes. If they don’t you may have to free the clamps a bit by prising them apart with a wide bladed screwdriver.

6. You should now be able to undo the clips and remove the old gaiters.

7. Carefully clean the forks before fitting the new gaiters.

8. Fitting the new gaiters is pretty much the reverse of the above.

9. When everything is back together, torque up the pinch bolts as per the handbook i.e. 23Nm for the top bolts and 30Nm for the lower bolts.
